Switching from MEE6, Dyno or Carl-bot to Hana
A command-by-command map for moving moderation, leveling, welcome messages and reaction roles from MEE6, Dyno or Carl-bot to Hana.
You don't have to switch everything at once. A safe order is: add Hana, move one module, check it for a few days, then turn that module off in the old bot.
The map
| You used | In Hana |
|---|---|
| Moderation (warn, mute, ban) | /mod warn, /mod timeout add, /mod ban add, cases with /mod cases view |
| AutoMod | /automod setup, then /automod config |
| Logging | /logging setup and /logging config |
| Leveling and role rewards | /levels admin setup, /levels admin addreward |
| Welcome messages | /greetings setup, /greetings config |
| Autorole / join roles | /autorole add |
| Reaction roles | /reactionrole import copies existing panels |
| Tickets | /ticket setup, /ticket panel |
| Giveaways | /giveaway drop |
| Starboard | /starboard setup |
| Suggestions | /setup-suggestions, members use /suggest |
| Music | /music play |
| Temp voice channels | /vc setup |
Step by step
- Invite Hana and move her role up (why).
- Logs and moderation first. Set
/mod log-channeland/logging setup. Your old case history stays in the old bot; export it there if it offers that. - Reaction roles: run
/reactionrole importon each old panel, test a reaction, then remove the old bot's panel handling. - Leveling: set up rewards with the same levels you used before. XP isn't imported automatically; set key members by hand with
/levels admin setxpif it matters to your community. - Welcome messages: set up
/greetings setup, compare with/greetings test, then disable the old one so new members don't get two. - Remove the old bot once nothing depends on it.
Tip: Two bots with AutoMod on at the same time will both punish the same message. Turn the old bot's AutoMod off the moment you turn Hana's on.
What you might miss
Be realistic about the trade-offs: long-established bots have years of web dashboard polish. Hana's setup is mostly done with slash commands in Discord; a web dashboard is in progress. See the comparisons for honest side-by-sides.
